Saul Ronsayro: The Virginia Living Museum (my choice 5)

Over the past two years, I have dedicated over 320 hours to volunteer work at the Virginia Living Museum. Starting in the fall of my first year, I became an intern at a place that will always hold a special place in my heart. Last Thursday was my last day there for a while, so I want to reflect on my journey there. I started doing what I was told, being a terrified 18-year-old with little real-world experience, but that was a concise part of my time there. I was immediately thrown into a massive project where I was given a little say on how to do things, which quickly helped me find my place. It taught me that sometimes, a little push is all you need to start a boulder rolling down a hill, and everything will pick up from there. This is where I learned to question how valuable my work is and that sometimes, all you need is a little faith in your superiors to get the job done.
