Sanai Williams: Psychology Research and Myth Similarity (Outside Readings)
For my research class I have had to read an astounding number of articles for several papers. Psychologist research is always meant to build off of previous studies in order to generalize results and confirm them. The goal in these studies is to, cross-culturally, generalize human behaviors, interactions, and thought processes. eventually this reminded me of class where myths are not to explain behavior, but say something about us not through research, but through example. This example in a way could be research. Some myths I believe were observed from a neighbor or so to the writer and they created their own narrative to say something more about this situation. If psychologists could write myths and understandable stories about their research to link myth and research, I think that would be a very cool thing to see!
