Sanai Williams: Made in Abyss-->Myth is Only so Far Away (Outside Reading)

There is a manga I have read a long time ago called Made in Abyss. It is a story about a society built on an island with a gaping abyss in the middle. The children in school learn about the animals and societies that live inside the abyss when they are little and the explorers that delve into it. The students who do not have family that have explored believe that all of it is fake and that skies and giant monsters cannot possibly exist in there. But when our protagonist delves inside it she finds everything and more. The abyss is a vast area with different levels, the air getting heavier and the creatures getting more dangerous the further down you are. This story really portrays the sublime as the beauty is dangerous everywhere this kid goes, and conveys that myth is only so far away, you just need to try and find it!
