Sanai Williams: The individual's Journey (Class Reading)

Upon watching the movie where the man is called upon his parents to complete a ritual for them, I have come to a understand the elements of a hero's journey. They have a calling (the TV turning on and showing his parents), the refusal, the set backs, the completion, and the return. Everything we had discussed was present in the movie yet presented something more. It showed that a journey is not only external on the hero's body, but internal within the soul. The journey and its experience changes a person from a regular guy into a hero at the end. In this movie the man had stronger values and a stronger disposition upon completion. The journey changes one; inside and out.
