Iris Denner: Recall (My Choosing)

When I think about recalls, my mind thinks about food recalls. Having a defective product that needs to be taken out of society because it is unsafe. But the actual definition of recall is to bring back into one's mind or to remember. Does this imply that memories are unsafe? Memories hold emotions, feelings, and sensations that can be called upon for further inspection later. They often lose their clarity over time, giving a hazy effect to old memories. Are memories an essential part of an effective journey? Does one need memories in order to learn from the past? Memories are what cause mental health issues and yet they cause happiness. Are memories needed to move on or does it make it harder? A journey requires something to overcome which would imply memories are essential for a mental journey. Is there a distinction between a mental and physical journey or are they intertwined?
