Grayson Plummer- Topic of own choice: Entry 3. Dune 2

This weekend I saw Dune 2 in theaters and figured I'd write a blog entry on it as we discussed it briefly in class a few weeks ago. Something I took away from this movie, that I've talked about in a multitude of my classes (Leadership and Organizational Behavior) is the danger of self-fulfilling prophecies. When individuals or groups believe in a prophecy, they may unconsciously or intentionally take actions to fulfill it or take part in it. This can lead to behaviors or decisions that bring about the predicted outcome, even if it might not have occurred otherwise. This can perpetuate cycles of violence, conflict, or other negative outcomes. Without giving anything away, this is a major theme throughout the film, that the main character Paul goes through.
