Grayson Plummer: Outside Readings- Journal Entry #11- Can't Hurt Me Pt. 1
Throughout my marathon training, I read a few different marathon books which I will be discussing throughout all of these entries through quotes I took note of while I was reading them over the last two semesters. In the book Can't Hurt Me, by David Goggin's, he writes The most important conversations you’ll ever have are the ones you’ll have with yourself". This quote is something that really stood out for me when I was reading this book, as running is the time that I have to think with myself. Whenever a difficult or important even is coming up, I always tend to run to subconsciously think it over. I am a insane overthinker, however, I generally make decisions the easiest when I am running or after I have ran. I think feedback from others is important, but it's also important to think by yourself at times. With people our age being so phone and people heavy, there isn't really much alone time for some people, and I think at times it can actually be beneficial.
