Grayson Plummer: In Class Reading: Journal Entry #9 Julian of Norwich
With this journal entry, I want to explore the type of words we looked at when discussing and reading about Julian of Norwich. What I found interesting was how words in the readings were spelled different, while also similar in a sense to how we spell and use words today, so I've picked out a few I found notable. First was "wite not", meaning something someone doesn't know or aren't aware of. "Wite" for some reason comes from the verb "to know". The word "dis-ease" means a lack of ease or discomfort, rather then the modern sense of disease as a physical sickness. I also found it interesting that truelove, was written as trewlovers, meaning individuals who are devoted to God and faithful.
