Gabe Snyder Blog 15 - King Crimson (Topic of my own choosing)

King Crimson is an English progressive rock band, with guitarist Robert Fripp being the sole constant member and primary "face" of the band. King Crimson, to me, has provided music that stands out for its inventiveness, unique experimentation, near virtuosic playing of all instruments, and diverse, yet high quality catalogue of music. Their journey as a band has been nothing short of tumultuous and shrouded in conflict and constant change. Out of their thirteen studio albums, only three albums have the same lineup as the previous, as often times members would leave, be kicked out, or be replaced. Often times, Fripp would disband the band altogether, though, the final "disbanding" in 2021 (more of an announcement of no more tours) has been much more peaceful and provides a fantastic resolution to a band that had started in 1969. King Crimson's music has provided me with much creative inspiration and has helped me on my musical journey by giving me a fantastic band to listen to, analyze, and share my love for. I also think the diversity in musical styles, instrumentation, and members has helped me stay invested in all of their work, not just their "big" songs.
