Emma Scott: Puzzles

How did puzzles come to be? In 1762 someone made a puzzle out of pieces of a map. The man gave the pieces of the map to the children and challenged them to put the map back together. A puzzle is seen as something to provide entertainment for people of all ages. As the puzzle has evolved they are created for children and other ones are extremely complicated for adults. Puzzles are something that my aunt and I do every year on the night of Christmas after all of the festivities and my younger cousin has gone to bed. We are able to bond and spend quality time together doing something that we both enjoy. It is a tradition that the two of us have done for around 5 years and it is something that we continue to do every year. There are many different kinds of puzzles and materials that they can be made out of. Some years we do wooden puzzles, clear puzzles, and puzzles in which pieces are shaped the exact same way. Puzzles create joy to those who play with them and they can come from so many places around the world with different themes.
